EEA Annual Members' Show: ORIGINS
All Media | Non-Juried | MARCH 15 - APRIL 19, 2013
Entry Dates: March 7, 8, 9 Open call for artist participation in the upcoming non-juried, all media Annual Members' art show, Origins, at the East End Arts Gallery in Riverhead.
Artists are encouraged to enter their work for guaranteed participation in this non-juried show; only requirement is that artists be or become a member of East End Arts at the time of drop-off. A tree begins as a seedling, or acorn. Rain starts as a cloud. An individual originates from ancestors who originated from different cultures or continents... or species. Gallery Director Jane Kirkwood encourages artists to "bring your subject back to some sort of beginning... its origin." Original work only, no reproductions. Acceptable entries include painting, drawing, photography, mixed media, sculpture and poetry; one entry per artist. All work must be dropped off in person at the East End Arts Gallery in Riverhead on March 7 from 10 to 4, March 8 from 10 to 4, or March 9 from 10 to 3. EEA's Second Annual National Art Competition: H2O

H2O comes in many forms. Rain, fog, ice, puddles, snow, tears, etc. Choose any and let your creativity flow for the artwork entered into this show. Two-Dimensional media only. Artists may enter up to five works for $45. Entries will be accepted through online entry form only. Submission deadlines: April 17, 2013, with an extended deadline of April 20, 2013 (additional fee applies.) Guest jurors are Peter J. Marcelle (Director, Gerald Peters Gallery, New York, NY; Owner, Peter Marcelle Gallery, Bridgehampton, NY) and Bruce Helander (Author, Book "Learning to See"; White House Fellow, National Endowment for the Arts; Editor-in-Chief, Arts Economist Magazine). Exhibit dates are August 9 through September 27, 2013. 'Best in Show' winner will receive a 10-day stay in EEA Artist Residence near Hamptons' Museums and Galleries, plus $1,000 and inclusion in a group show at the prestigious Peter Marcelle Gallery in Bridgehampton, NY.

Open call for artist participation in the upcoming juried, all media art show, Art & Science, at the East End Arts Gallery in Riverhead. Gallery Director Jane Kirkwood encourages artists: "Art and science are as diverse as two things can be. One is more mechanical, the other more mystical - but in the 21st century which is which? Try using both as your concept or demonstrate one with the other." Guest juror of this show is artist and science teacher Karyn Olsen. Original works in all media may be submitted, including: painting, drawing, photography, mixed media, video, sculpture and poetry; up to three entries can be submitted per artist. Entries will be accepted on Thursday, April 18 and Friday, April 19, from 10AM to 4PM; and Saturday, April 20 from 10AM to 3PM at the EEA Gallery. Show dates are April 26 through June 14, 2013, with a reception on Friday, April 26, 2013. This show sponsored by Peconic Bay Medical Center, and is in collaboration with the Long Island Science Center.

Open Call for Exhibiting Artist Vendors to participate in this Memorial Day Weekend tradition in downtown Riverhead, presented by East End Arts.
This free event draws 5,000 local residents and tourists. Festival fun for the family includes: street painting, storytelling, live music, theatre, drumming, dance, art demonstration, performances, art sale and exhibit, face painting, and so much more! Sign up on or before April 1 and your name and link to your website will be listed on our event webpage, as well as on our promotional flier distributed to over 3,000 businesses and individuals.
