Kids Cook Healthy with East End House and Catalyst Restaurant

“They ate the whole thing,” exclaimed a shocked Jennifer Garner, “I mean all of it!” Kids don’t usually love healthy salads, but Catalyst Restaurant’s Chef William Kovel knows how to change that. This fall, ten fourth and fifth grade students from East End House’s after school program are taking Friday field trips to Catalyst Restaurant, where they receive cooking instruction from Owner and Chef Kovel.

Annual Thanksgiving Giveaway Feeds Thousands
Families continue to struggle from the economic downturn, but East End House is making sure everyone has something to be thankful for. On November 20th, the organization served more than 850 families with bags full of fresh produce, recipes, turkeys and all the fixings of a traditional Thanksgiving meal.

You can help make the Holidays festive for everyone! Each December, East End House offers warm clothing, essential personal items and children’s toys for families who cannot afford them. We are looking for volunteers to donate food and gifts, adopt a family, and help us sort and distribute Holiday gifts.

Weekly Playgroups
Every Tuesday
10:00AM – 11:30AM
Bring your 0-5 year old for a fun morning of games, puzzles, and more. No need to sign up, just drop by. Playgroups are a great way for parents and children to socialize. When weather permits, playgroups will take place in the East End House backyard garden. Snack is provided. Sunrise Senior Program
Every Monday and Wednesday

The Sunrise Senior Activities Program is a group of area seniors who meet twice a week to engage in a variety of social activities. It is open to all seniors in the community. Members of the group enjoy activities and games, guest speakers, presentations, luncheons and field trips. Cooking for a Cause

East End House's tenth annual Cooking for a Cause fundraising event will take place on Friday, April 12th from 6 to 10 p.m. at the MIT Media Lab, with Chef William Kovel as the Culinary Chair and Dylan Black as the Wine Chair. The event brings together some of the top chefs, mixologists and specialty vendors in the area for an extraordinary evening to benefit the essential programs East End House provides to the community.
