  Rite Aid  The  Rite Aid Foundation is dedicated to helping communities lead  happier,  healthier lives and seeks to fund programs that focus on health  and  wellness in areas in which Rite Aid operates.

   Healthy Schools (CO) Foundation       The focus of the Healthy Schools program is to expand the  number of  public schools and preschools that have health and nutrition  education,  physical education, healthy food in cafeterias and vending  machines,  opportunities for physical activity, and health care services. 
 
 Award amounts vary. Nonprofit organizations and public agencies located in Colorado are eligible to apply. 
 Deadline: February 15, 2014         Run for Good Grant Sponsor: The Saucony Run For Good Foundation    The Saucony Run For Good Foundation is committed to improving the   lives of children by helping to prevent and reduce childhood obesity and  healthy lifestyle programs for  youth.     Funding Amount:  $10,000    Deadline: December 13, 2013 
   Fitness Program Grants   Sponsor: Good Sports    Good Sports helps to lay the foundation for healthy, active  lifestyles  by providing athletic equipment, footwear, and apparel to   disadvantaged young people nationwide. By partnering with sporting goods   manufacturers, Good Sports is able to provide equipment, apparel, and   footwear to programs in need.      Award amounts vary. Schools are encouraged to apply.  Project  Orange Thumb encourages creative expression in gardening by  providing  grants to efforts geared toward sustainable agriculture,  neighborhood  beautification, youth development, and community  involvement.

 Deadline: December 5, 2011         Youth Athletic and Active Lifestyle Grant Programs   Sponsor: Finish Line Youth Foundation    Finish Line Youth Foundation focuses funding on organizations that   provide opportunities for youth participation in the following areas:   (1) Youth athletic programs - Community-based programs addressing active   lifestyle and team building skills; and (2) Camps - Established camps with   an emphasis on sports and active lifestyle, especially programs  serving  disadvantaged and special needs kids.   Reducing Health Disparities Among Minority and Underserved Children   Sponsor: National Institutes of Health    The purpose of this funding is to support institutions/organizations  that propose to conduct research to reduce health disparities among  minority and underserved children.

       Find Your Balance Challenge   Sponsor: Together Counts     The Find Your Balance Challenge is open to elementary school  classrooms in grades K-5 and rewards student teams for taking steps  toward achieving Energy Balance in your own school communities.      Funding Amount: $30,000 Grand Prize Grant. One  Second Place school, $10,000; and one Third Place  school, $5,000.     Deadline: 1/31/2014     
     Toolbox for Education Grants   Sponsor: The Lowe's Charitable and Educational Foundation    The Lowe's Foundation is accepting applications for its Toolbox for  Education Grant Program. The purpose of this program is to support  school improvement projects at K-12 public schools in the United States.  For the 2012-13 school year program, the foundation will give priority  to supporting the basic needs of communities. Projects that encourage  parent involvement and build stronger community spirit are encouraged.

   The General Mills Foundation, in collaboration with the American  Dietetic Association Foundation and the President's Council on Physical  Fitness and Sports, is accepting applications for its Champions for  Healthy Kids grant program. The purpose of the program is to support  sustainable, effective programs working to improve nutrition and  physical fitness behaviors for youth.
