Are we a good fit for the School Year 2013-14?
| Peaceful Playgrounds It's easier than you think |
We work with schools, principals, and PTAs who are struggling with issues of discipline and bad behavior, particularly during recess. Our clients are concerned about such behavior but are also worried about their students' lack of exercise and potential issues of obesity and poor learning outcomes; they wonder how they can do more to help students be successful. We are passionate about creating a playground environment that encourages children to play constructively, burn energy, and return to the classroom ready and eager to learn. Peaceful Playgrounds is committed to providing playground kits for schools that provide over 100 games for your students to play every recess, games that they love, that keep them occupied creatively whenever they are outside. "Peaceful Playgrounds is where kids hop, skip, and jump their way to a healthy body and brain." Get started today. Download a brochure or call 877-444-9888.

Playground Tip of the Month - Institute a Freeze Bell
| Freeze Bell
|
The beginning of the school year is a great time to introduce a new procedure for the playground. One of the more successful procedures that I introduced as a principal was the Freeze Bell. Most students benefit from a clear transition from recess to the classroom. Requiring students to freeze at the recess bell has many benefits: 1. reduction in playground injuries;
2. calms children as they return to the classroom;
3. results in an orderly and controlled transition back to class;
4. makes it easier to gain control after recess to remind children of the rules and procedures; 5. prevents a mad rush to be first in line; 6. playground equipment can be accounted for before children are released to walk back to class. For additional playground tips and strategies, go to our playground resource page.
