REMINDER: NEW TENANT LAW TOOK EFFECT FEBRUARY 1, 2014
On January 21, 2014, Gov. Chris Christie signed New Jersey S-2018 into law. The law allows residential tenants to recover attorney's fees and expenses as a result of a "tenant's successful defense of any action or summary proceeding filed by the landlord against a tenant, arising out of an alleged failure of the tenant to perform any agreement in the lease, or as the result of any successful action or summary proceeding filed by the tenant against a landlord, arising out of an alleged failure of the landlord to perform any agreement in the lease."  NJR� updated their Standard Form of Residential Lease, Form 125 in 2014 to reflect the law.  The lease form is available at http://www.njrealtor.com/formsimplicity/ at no cost to members.  The law took effect February 1, 2014.

Licensees can check the number of CE credits earned for the 2013-2015 licensing cycle and print transcripts by visiting the NJ Real Estate CE Tracking System - PSI Site:  http://njrece.psiexams.com  
To Log In follow these instructions:  Your initial user id is "L" plus your License Reference Number.  Your initial password is "L" plus your License Reference Number plus the last 4 digits of your SSN (ex: L00100019999). After logging in, click on My Account to add an email address and change your password.

NJR� QUARTER CENTURY CLUB APPLICATION

If you have been a member of NJR� for at least 25 years (need not be consecutive), you are eligible for the NJR� Quarter Century Club.

 

The requirements are as follows:

1. Membership open to current members of NJR� only, both REALTORS� and REALTOR-ASSOCIATES�.

2. NJR� membership for at least 25 years (need not be consecutive).  Those persons who have been in the real estate business but NOT members of NJR� for 25 years or more are NOT eligible.

3. Applicants will be requested to send applications to local association by September 14, 2015

4. Pin and certificate to be presented to recipient will be purchased from NJR� (paid by MCAR for MCAR members) and distributed by the local boards/associations.

5. Burden of proof of membership in NJR� is the responsibility of the applicant.
