 July 2013

Our attitude has always been "why ruin a perfectly good pizza with fruit?" But this is something so very different. Plus we feature a Savannah restaurant institution. And find out about an amazing summer deal. Have a safe and happy 4th!

Fruit Pizza

It has fruit so it's healthy!

  • 1 7 oz Jar Marshmallow Creme
  • 8 oz Cream Cheese (softened)

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  2. On an ungreased medium baking sheet, smooth the refrigerated sugar cookie dough into a single layer approximately 1/4 inch thick. Bake in the preheated oven 10 minutes, or until edges are lightly browned and center is no longer doughy.
  3. In a medium bowl, blend the marshmallow creme and cream cheese. Spread the mixture over the baked crust.
  4. Slice fresh fruit to decorate the top.
  5. Chill in the refrigerator until serving.

The Olde Pink House
Built in 1771 and sheathed with a layer of pink stucco, this house has functioned as a private home, a bank, a tearoom, and headquarters for one of Sherman's generals. Today its interior is severe and dignified, with stiff-backed chairs, bare wooden floors, and an 18th-century aura similar to what you'd find in Williamsburg, Virginia.
Richly steeped in the traditions of the Low Country, its cuisine includes sautéed local shrimp with country ham and grits cake, crispy scored flounder with apricot sauce, steak au poivre, black grouper stuffed with blue crab and drenched in white onion and butter sauce, and grilled tenderloin of pork served with collard greens and yams.

Savannah is waiting for you. Come back for a visit.
