Love it or Hate it, Here Comes Daylight Saving Time
Daylight Saving Time begins at 2 a.m. Sunday. At that moment (or tonight), the few analog clocks still around need to "spring forward" an hour, turning 1:59:59 a.m. into 3 a.m. Since most of our computers, phones and DVRs do it automatically, it's not as much of a chore as it used to be. We don't go back to Standard Time until Sunday, Nov. 6.

Elective Choice Forms for 2016-2017

6th and 7th Grade Students
March 14 and 15 in your math class you will be receiving your Elective Choice Form for the 2016-2017 school year. These forms are to be taken home, completed and RETURNED to the math teacher no later than March 21st. The hard copy sheet is completed and returned AND students enter their elective information in Q, Student Connect (instructions on how to do this are on the back of the Elective Choice Form.) Elective Descriptions are available on the MCMS Website.

8th Grade Students
Current 8th grade students will be meeting with OPHS 9th grade counselors in their math class, either Monday, March 14  or Tuesday, March 15, to discuss their 9th grade schedule at OPHS.

8th Grade Panoramic Pictures
The 8th grade panoramic picture will be taken Thursday, March 24th at 2:00 pm on the field. Here is some pertinent information:

All 8th graders will arrive at the field with their 7th period teacher and immediately find their place in a short to tall line on the blacktop, following teacher instructions. (If you have a mixed 7th/8th grade class, please excuse your 8th graders to go to the field)
The school dress code applies, as usual; and although the picture will be taken outside, no hats are allowed (we want to see your face).
Students wishing to purchase a copy of the panoramic picture must complete the order form and have a check (see prices in brochure that will be sent home this week) for the exact amount. (It is suggested to put the check number on the order form).
The cost of the photograph is: $21 (print only) and $36 (framed print).
The check, or credit card information (see brochure that will be sent home through period 7 this week), should be placed in the completed order envelope and sealed, and will be collected by the photographers on the field on Thursday. This is the only opportunity to purchase a picture.

Should you have any questions, please contact me at abagheri@opusd.org.

Sincerely,

Amanda Bagheri
