STEAM Career Exploration Night - February 18



Is your child wondering what career will be best for them? 

There are so many kinds of jobs out there. How do you help them? Come and explore the many faceted and thriving jobs in the STEAM careers that are for EVERYONE! 

Medea Creek will be hosting the second annual Career Exploration Night for 5-12th-grade students on Thursday, February 18th from 7-9 pm in the Medea Creek Gym. Come and talk one on one with local professionals willing to share their insight and expertise. Find out what you want to know about careers in Arts, Media and Entertainment; Building Trades and Construction; Computer Science and Information & Technology; Engineering and Design; Finance and Business; and Health Science and Medical Technology. Also get a chance to win a prize!

Hoops for the Heart
Parents be on the lookout...for a sponsorship form in your child's backpack in two weeks. MCMS supports the American Heart Association's Annual Hoops/Jump For The  Heart 
event and asks for donations from parents/families/friends in support of your child's participation.  We are also in need of volunteers to help on the day of the event so things run smoothly for our children and coaches.  Tuesday, February 23rd is for 7th and 8th graders.  Wednesday, February 24th is for 6th graders.  Please click here to sign up and help a worthy cause.

Earn Community Service Hours With Dole Great Race of Agoura! 
This major event, celebrating 31 years of supporting Agoura Hills and Oak Park schools, is the perfect opportunity to get involved in a fun, community-wide activity. You can volunteer as a group, with a friend, or as an individual. There are many different ways to volunteer (minimum volunteer age for all positions is 14 unless working with an adult or older sibling).  Spots will fill quickly! Sign up directly at volunteer.greatrace.run . History Day at Medea
History DayMedea Creek's  fourth annual History Day Competition will be held in the Library Wednesday, February 24, from 3 pm to 6 pm in the Library. Forty groups of students have signed up to research and present exhibits or documentaries on historical topics related to this year's theme Exploration, Encounter, Exchange. Everyone is invited to attend.  Participating eighth graders earn history with honors designation at graduation for taking part, however a large group of sixth and seventh graders participated this year as well.  Hope you are able to stop in. If you have any questions, contact Sharon Lavene

Oak Park Music Fest
The first annual Oak Park Music Festival featuring the Oak Park School's music and choral programs will be held Sunday, April 10, 2016 from 12-4pm. Enjoy a fun-filled family day with revolving stages of talent, food trucks, bake sale, booths, kids games and a silent auction. Admission is only $5.00 and all proceeds benefit OPIMA (Oak Park Instrumental Music Association) and choral programs. 

Promote Your Business
The Oak Park Music Festival is selling booth space to area businesses.  A great way to promote home based businesses, corporate businesses or sell your products or arts and crafts.  Booth space is 10'x10' and includes a table and 2 chairs.  Booths are $100 and all proceeds benefit OPIMA.
