2016 Geo Bee Class Winners
2016 Geography Bee Class Winners

The 2016 MCMS Geography Bee was quite a marathon.  We had 30 kids participating representing 6th, 7th, and 8th grades.  The Bee went over 20 rounds before 7th grader Daniel Conway beat out 6th grader Ava Moreno in the Competition Round.  Congratulations to both of them - this was quite an accomplishment!  The next step for Daniel is to qualify for the California State Bee which will be held on April 1, 2016.  After that it could be on to the National Bee which runs from May 22-25.  Good luck Daniel!

Medea's Past Ability Awareness Fairs

The Ability Awareness Fair will be held at MCMS on February 9th and 10th, 2016. Volunteers are needed to help coordinate 7th grade students as they move through the different stations. The event is especially fun because you get to interact with students directly.  The kids are very open to getting involved and wind up enjoying themselves while they're learning.  No experience or specialized knowledge is necessary to facilitate the activities.  All the kits are self-contained and come with clear, simple directions.

Here is the sign-up link so that you can choose the times that are most convenient for you: http://www.signupgenius.com/go/5080548afa62eaa8-medea .  The time slots are just 50 minutes long. All we need is an hour of your day we hope you find a time that works for you.  Because we're working with so many students, many volunteers are needed to make the event as successful and impactful as it can be.  Thank you so much for making time for it.
