Principal Benioff's December Message
Season of Thanks

It was a wonderful week for Thanksgiving, and now we head into the holiday's  having completed half of the school year!  It is a time of reflection and thanks and I want to acknowledge the cast of thousands who make MCMS the best middle school anywhere!
There have been so many great experiences already for our students and the rest of the year promises even more!  Thanks go to our teachers for their unending energy and dedication to creating lessons for our students that are engaging and powerful; to our office staff for their personal touch in supporting students and parents needs; to our custodians for keeping the campus functioning. This year, I want to give special acknowledgement to our food services staff; they created a completely new program of freshly prepared and healthy recipes into food the kids and staff love!  Not an easy feat. We have so many volunteers, particularly our PFA.  All of our extended field trips; Catalina, AstroCamp and Outdoor Education went fabulously for the kids.  I have to thank all the staff that coordinated these trips for the countless hours of work to carry out these trips; and to the many parent chaperones that willingly went on a middle school field trip! Thanks of course to our students, whom this is all about and who are the best!

I hope the community can attend our music programs scheduled this coming week; Beginning, Intermediate and Advanced Bands on Tuesday, Dec. 8; Choir and Jazz Bands on Dec. 10 at the Oak Park High School Pavilion.  There is no better way to start the holidays than listening to these performances!
