Our Perspective
Spotlight: Live, Work, Play in Augusta County
Augusta County businesses brought "Live, Work, Play" to life in the past month. Our business community made it happen, offering citizens new options for housing, jobs and eating locally. Here's the update:
Play - Valley Pike Farm Market will open in Weyers Cave on August 22nd. This restored historic barn located on Route 11 will feature local foods, a deli counter, Virginia's Finest products, The Rumor Mill Coffee Company serving locally roasted coffee beans, an ice cream counter, a food truck court, local craft beer and wine as well as a future open-air vegetable stand. The Granary will also be available for events. Plan to attend the Grand Opening Celebration on September 3rd!
When a community offers citizens opportunities to meet all of life's basic needs - a roof over our heads, a job to support families and a place to eat quality food - we're headed in the right direction.

#toolbox DreamWakers.org
"Students can't be what they can't see."
Monica Gray, founder of DreamWakers.org, spoke at the recent Shenandoah Valley Partnership's Annual Meeting and shared DreamWakers.org's mission, "Students can't be what they can't see." This missive inspired Monica to create DreamWakers, a free online video software program beaming career speakers into classrooms via videoconferencing. These speakers offer students the opportunity to learn about careers they otherwise may not have known existed.
The opportunity to inspire is available for Augusta County companies as well. If interested, look into DreamWakers here.
