Our Perspective
Spotlight: Reflecting on 2015

Augusta County received tremendous gifts this past year in terms of job creation, business expansion, and infrastructure development. LifeCore Drive in Fishersville, opened in 2015, created a connection between Tinkling Springs Road and Route 250 near the Wilson Memorial Complex. This addition to the County's transportation system will open the door to future economic development stretching from Augusta Health to the ever-growing Myers Corner.

Present and future available jobs in the County increased with Nexus Services Inc. locating its corporate headquarters in Mill Place Commerce Park. The company plans to employ as many as 250 people by 2018. Another success for the County's job market was the saving of 150 jobs in Verona at what is today known as AccuTec Blades, Inc. (formerly American Safety Razor).
We look to the New Year with excitement and anticipation. Our economic development team and enthusiastic business partners have great things planned for 2016!
Wishing you the happiest of holidays,
Amanda

inDEMAND-Jobs in the Valley
Building the Valley Workforce Pipeline

WHSV-TV3, in partnership with the Shenandoah Valley Partnership (SVP), launched a new marketing initiative in 2015. The inDEMAND Jobs campaign has been highlighting career paths in the Valley that are in high demand, well-paying, and don't necessarily require a traditional, 4-year, collegiate education.
