Our Perspective
"How to" Spotlight: How to spend your summer in Augusta County!

Open those summer calendars and book some time in Augusta County! We've got camping, farmer's markets, lakes, hiking, fishing, vineyards and breweries, and even places you can put your feet in the sand.

For camping options, check out:

Shenandoah Valley Campground

Staunton/Walnut Hills KOA

Sherando Lake

Shenandoah Acres Family Campground (the lake is now open!)

Natural Chimneys Campground

Does your family like to pick strawberries or eat food fresh from the farm? Looking for a local beer when it's hot out? Ever walked through cultivated fields of wildflowers and herbs and taken home an original bouquet? Use this map from Fields of Gold to find options throughout Augusta County.

For a festival experience, look into the Red Wing Roots Music Festival. Three days of music, food, fun and beautiful scenery. Check out the festival line-up, and picture yourself there July 10-12.

Then there's Grand Caverns, Polyface Farms, and miles of hiking trails to explore. I love living in an area that offers so much that is so close to home. #goaugusta
