Our Perspective
Spotlight on Augusta County's Major Employers

Augusta County runs on quality businesses. We are blessed with a thriving, diverse business base that provides our citizens with great job opportunities and keeps our unemployment rate consistently
low (currently at 4.6%). With Taylor and Boody Organ Builders celebrating its 35th anniversary this year and with Augusta Health's 20th anniversary this month, I'm inspired by all of the employers in this area who have unfailingly given back to the community through investment, jobs, and quality of life amenities.

Augusta County's top five manufacturing/distribution employers (Hershey Chocolate, McKee Foods, Target Distribution, Daikin and Hollister) collectively employ nearly 4,000 people. But, those names and numbers are just the beginning. Every single business in Augusta County, both large and small, contributes to the quality community that we all enjoy and call home. The complete list of the 50 largest employers in Augusta County is remarkable, and if your company is looking for information such as this list, we are always happy to run data reports.

I'm proud to work in a community with so many incredible businesses, and I look forward to continuing to help support economic development efforts now and in the future. Whether you're celebrating your first or your 50th anniversary of doing in business in Augusta County - thank you!
