Our Perspective
Spotlight on Mill Place Commerce Park

With three projects currently under construction and a new business on the way, I thought this month's newsletter would be the perfect time to highlight Mill Place Commerce Park. This Park is a testament to just how important economic development is to Augusta County.

The Board of Supervisors purchased what is today Mill Place Commerce Park in 1996 and over time has worked toward a vision that is successfully being realized. Sumitomo Drive Technologies (formerly Hansen) has anchored the park for over a decade. Mill Place Office Park is doing so well that Countryside has expanded and just finished Phase II, which adds 7,500 SF of additional office space to the Park. Shamrock Farms, one of the largest family-owned dairies in the U.S., will have its East Coast facility operational this fall at the same time that DASCOM Americas, an international company, will be opening the doors of its North American headquarters. We are now proud to announce that Blue Ridge Machine Works is joining the Augusta County family.

Blue Ridge Machine Works will invest $1.3 million and bring 16 jobs to the County over the next three years. Click here to see pictures of the groundbreaking event. I'm excited to be part of this strategic growth - please let me know if I can help your company grow!
