SVCC Annual Awards Dinner - Seeking Nominations

Join us on Thursday, June 4 to recognize local businesses and leaders who have demonstrated exemplary business practices throughout the year.

Discovering the Ingenuity Within the Souhegan Valley is the theme of the 27th Annual Award Dinner and Celebration for the Souhegan Valley Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber takes this opportunity once a year to recognize the many wonderful businesses and the contributions of our community members through special awards.

Nominations in four categories are received from members and non-members alike.  Businesses are nominated based on their involvement in the greater Souhegan Valley communities as volunteers, supporting the efforts of local charities and nonprofit organizations, and for being businesses held in high regard for their business practices. Please send your choice for nominations to [email protected].

Voting on the four categories of Business of the Year, Small Business of the Year, Business Leader of the Year and Volunteer of the Year will take place during our Annual dinner celebration on June 4th at LaBelle Winery, in Amherst. Cocktail reception starts at 5:30 pm followed by Dinner at 6:30 pm and ends with the Business and Student Awards at 7:30 pm. Ticket cost are $50 per person and may be purchased by calling the Chamber office at 603-673-4360.

Estate Planning Workshop Presented by Estate Planning&Preservation Law Office

Have you been meaning to get your will done for a while now, but just can't find the time, or are afraid going to a lawyer will be too expensive?

Every year, about half of the Americans who die,
do so without even a simple will. Many more become mentally incapacitated due to old age
and disease or accidents, but without legal agreements allowing their loved ones to make decisions. Why? The perceived cost and inconvenience of working with a lawyer.
.
Our Two-Hour Workshop is just what They (and You) Need. You'll go home with:
your valid New Hampshire Last Will and Testament, which says who should be the guardian of your children if you are no longer around, and who will get your money and other property after you're gone;
a Financial Power of Attorney, which allows your loved ones to make decisions about your money and property when you cannot; and a Healthcare Power of Attorney, which allows your loved ones to make decisions about your care if you cannot a Living Will, which expresses your wishes for end-of-life care. During the workshop, Attorney Donald H. Sienkiewicz will explain what these documents do, what you need to do to ensure their effectiveness, and when it is appropriate to upgrade this basic estate plan with a living trust. You'll also leave knowing how to take advantage of the beneficiary designation forms that come with your financial accounts. Finally, you'll understand what probate is and how to avoid it.

Donald explains the complexities of estate planning with humor and in simple terms. You'll leave feeling empowered by your new knowledge, and relieved to have gotten this important task done - simply and inexpensively.
