This year's Southern NH Expo is shaping up to be a terrific event! We are adding new events to go along with our new day on Saturday,such as a Kidz Zone area with bounce houses, face painting and a "Mad Scientist" to keep the kiddos entertained while Mom & Dad visit with exhibitors. Stage entertainment will be new and varied too -including a fashion show of some of our clothing retailers, great music and dance and a show featuring Mad Science of Southern NH! Managing Health Care Expenses in Retirement: What Baby Boomers Need to Know About Medicare and Long-Term Care," September 10, 6-8 PM, at the Souhegan Valley Chamber of Commerce office, 69 Route 101A, Amherst.
This educational workshop will cover the following:
- How Medicare enrollment periods work - and what you need to do to avoid late-enrollment penalties
- How much you can expect to pay in health care costs after going onto Medicare
- How Medicare works with private insurance to provide comprehensive coverage
- Why most people pay too much for private insurance and how you can avoid excess costs
- Why you must plan for higher health care costs in retirement - including the possibility of needing long-term care
