Greenwich Recreation has lined up many fall activities for your recreational enjoyment.   Read below for information on youth sports programs for the fall.  Information is available for Coed Volleyball for ages 16 and older.  Tickets will soon be on sale for Halloween Happenings.  For a listing of Special Events for September - December, click here.

The Dorothy Hamill Skating Rink will open on a limited basis in September.  Registration for fall programs has begun.  Read more.
 
For questions on any of our programs, please email the Recreation Division at recreation@greenwichct.org.  The office at Town Hall is open weekdays, 8 AM to 4 PM  CLOSED Monday, September 5 for Labor Day. Plus, much sports information can be found on our Recreation Sports Website in addition to the Town Website.

Youth Sports YouthSports
Baseball, Field Hockey, Soccer
Registration is available for fall youth soccer programs via mail and in-person until all teams are filled or until the second week of the programs.  We offer Coed Soccer for Ages 3-9 at Havemeyer fields on Saturdays and Coed Soccer with Aldwin for Ages 9-11 at Loughlin Avenue on Saturdays.

Registration forms are available for Fall Field Hockeymail-in and in-person registration will be accepted until filled or until September 10th.  This is an instructional program for grades 1-8. Games will be scheduled with other town's teams for grades 3 through 8.  Limited space remains for grades 1 & 2 and 3 & 4.

Fall Baseball Clinic information is  available.  The program will be held on Wednesday afternoons for boys ages 10-12; limited space remains for ages 10-12. The session for ages 8 & 9 is FULL. This is an eight week instructional clinic and not league play.  

Dorothy Hamill Skating Rink DHSR
Registration Has Begun
The Dorothy Hamill Skating Rink will open for the 2016-17 season on Tuesday, September 6.  The phone # is (203) 531-8560.  Hockey programs and session 1 of Skating School begins the 2nd week of October.  

On-line and mail-in registration begins Monday, August 29 for hockey programs and session 1 of Skating School.  On-line activity registration is only available to Greenwich residents.  Residents must provide proof of residency if not provided this year.  Walk-in registration for hockey and session 1 of Skating School begins September 12 at the rink.  
 
September 17-18 is the first weekend of public skating sessions.  Public sessions will be held weekends only until the full public session schedule begins on Monday, October 10.

Eastern Greenwich Civic CenterEGCC
The EGCC has many activities planned including Friday Night Roller Skating, LifeLine Health Screening, Southern CT Model Train Show, and so much more.  Fall Pickleball  begins in September. Register for one, two, or all three days per week.  For additional information on these and other programs in September and October, see our September Newsletter.

NOTE: The EGCC will be closed Labor Day weekend, September 3-5.  

The Civic Center has rooms of varying sizes available to rent for your next party, meeting, or class!  Call us at (203) 637-4583 or contact us by e-mail.  The EGCC is located at 90 Harding Road in Old Greenwich. 

Skatepark skatepark
Fall Clinics
The Greenwich Skatepark is open, weather permitting.  Weekday hours are 3:30 - 7:00 PM and weekend hours are 12:30 - 7:00 PM. Registration is open on-line for  Fall Skateboard Clinics for youth ages 6-12 years.  Mail in registration begins September 6 and in-person registration at Town Hall begins September 12.  

BWGCC Bendheim Western Greenwich Civic Center
BWGCC has several fun programs for youth including  Jay and Ray music, Just Wee TwoTennis for Tots, plus Spanish and Italian Classes.   Plus a Pre-season Basketball clinic will be held for ages 9-12.  

Open Coed Adult Volleyball begins Tuesday, September 6 and will be held from 7:30-9:00 PM.   The drop-in Pickleball schedule changes; see the fall Pickleball schedule

The Toastmasters International meet on specific Wednesdays at BWGCC.  KG Fitness Boot Camp Class will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  Register for one or both evenings.

Griffith E. Harris Golf Course  Griff
Check out our web site at www.thegriffgolf.org or stop by the office at the golf course located at 1323 King Street.  We are the only non-private golf course in Greenwich and have a championship course that has hosted a PGA event.  If you have any questions, call the office at (203) 531-6944 or (203) 531-8253.

NOTE:  Single entry park passes are not available for purchase at the Eastern or Bendheim Western Civic Center on the weekends or holidays. Beach pass sales are weekdays only at the Civic Centers from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM.  For park pass information, call (203) 622-7817.  Online purchase of single entry park passes is available for residents who have updated their residency status for 2016.

The next meeting of the Board of Parks and Recreation will be Wednesday, September 21 at 6:30 PM; there is no August meeting.  Much additional information can be found by viewing the Parks and Recreation page of the Town Website.  Office hours at Town Hall are weekdays, 8 AM to 4 PM, CLOSED Monday, September 5 for Labor Day.

Tickets for Halloween Happenings will be available for on-line purchase starting Wednesday, September 7 for Greenwich residents.  Tickets may be purchased by mail or in-person starting Monday, September 19.  Download a registration form.

Weather Cancellation Information
Please make note of the Recreation Division's weather cancellation hotline phone # (203) 861-6100.  Information regarding cancellations and closures is also posted on our Recreation Sports Website, where you can also sign up to get text alerts and/or e-mails notifying you of changes.    
Recreation Credit and Refund Policy
Credit requests for recreation program registration will be considered if received in writing prior to the start of the program.  There is a $15 administrative fee for credits.
  
The general policy of the Recreation Division is that we do not process refunds unless a program has been cancelled.  Please read all registration information carefully and contact us prior to registering for a program if you have any questions.

Greenwich Farmers Market

The Greenwich Farmers Market is held each Saturday from 9:30 AM to 1:00 PM at the commuter parking lot on the corner of Horseneck Lane and Arch Street.
Parks & Recreation Foundation PRFoundation
The Greenwich Parks & Recreation Foundation was set up to receive donations, allowing the community citizens and businesses an avenue to donate to the Town of Greenwich Parks & Recreation projects and  programs.  The foundation is a 501(c)(3).  For more information and to donate, visit the Foundation website.
