FIRST Championship Information
 
The list of all 43 teams New England teams attending FIRST Championship, broken down by division, can be found on the NE FIRST Facebook pageA full team list for each division can be found on the Championship website. Competition results will be posted throughout the weekend as they become available.
  • #FIRSTChampLive and the FIRST Championship webcasts for the all of the FIRST programs will be available on the Championship website. More information about #FIRSTChampLive can be found here.
  • The FIRST Championship App, designed by BechTel, will have all the latest news, interactive maps, personalized schedules, activities, team information, alerts and more.
  • In an effort to save time through the Inspection Process, bag & tag forms will not be checked at Championship. Teams can uncrate and unbag as soon as they arrive at their pit during load-in to get the Inspection Process started.
  • For pit assignments, each team has been assigned an alpha-numeric address. To find out your Pit Address, simply click on the Teams link in the Championship App, choose FRC Teams, and find your Team Number. Under your Team Number, you will see the Pit Address for your Team. More information can be found on the blog.
  • Pit maps and match schedules will also be posted to the Championship website as they become available online.
  • Great job to those teams who have pre-registered for the FIRST Championship through the Experient website! Please note that pre-registration is NOT open to spectators and all spectators will be expected to register on-site.
  • All New England robots competing at FIRST Championship are slated to ship out of St. Louis no later than Tuesday, May 3. Robots should arrive back in New England by Friday, May 6.
     
FedEx Innovation Challenge at FIRST Championship
 
The FedEx Innovation Challenge will be happening again at FIRST Championship this year for FIRST Robotics Competition and FIRST Tech Challenge teams! The new challenges will be revealed starting on Thursday, April 28 at 7:00 a.m. CDT under the Challenges tab on the website. All responses will be judged on accuracy, creativity, and the level of team participation and spirit. Submissions must be posted to Twitter or Instagram by 8:00 p.m. CDT on Friday, April 29, to qualify. All responses must include three hashtags: #FedEx, #OMGrobots and #[your team number and the word Contest: example #FTC123Contest].
  • Gold Prize: $10,000 grant from FedEx
  • Silver Prize: $7,500 grant from FedEx
  • Bronze Prize: $5,000 grant from FedEx
     
Off-Season Events in New England
 
Connecticut State Championship (restricted to CT teams)
 
The Connecticut State Championship, hosted by NE FIRST and the Connecticut Association of Schools (CAS), will be held on Saturday, May 14 at Pomperaug High School in Southbury, CT. Registration is $200/team and can be completed here. Additionally, the volunteer sign-up form is now available.
 
The Planning Committee for the CT State Championship is looking for proposals to sell team and audience food, snacks and drinks at the event. Drinks and snacks should be prepackaged. Any food that is not prepackaged is subject to Town of Southbury Health Department regulations. Please send proposals to [email protected].
 
Battlecry@WPI 17
 
Battlecry@WPI 17 will be held at WPI Harrington Auditorium on Saturday, May 21 and Sunday, May 22. Registration is $400/team, which includes 10 shirts, 10 Saturday Night BBQ tickets, 10 Saturday Night Ice Cream Social tickets, and 10 Sunday Lunches. Extra shirts and food tickets can be requested after your team has registered or joined the Ready Reserves waitlist. Registration and more information are available on the website, and interested volunteers can fill out the form here.
 
Mayhem in Merrimack
 
The Twelfth Annual Mayhem In Merrimack, hosted by FRC 166, will take place on Saturday, June 4 at Merrimack High School in Merrimack NH. Registration will be $175/team and more information can be found on the website.
 
Where is Wolcott Invitational 2016
 
The Where is Wolcott Invitational (WIWI) post-season event, hosted by FRC 1071, will be held on Saturday, June 11 at Wolcott High School in Wolcott, CT. Registration is $250/team. To register, email the registration form to Rob Cormier at [email protected]. This event is limited to 24 teams and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. 

     
SpaceX Internship Application Reminder
 
An exclusive SpaceX Internship application for FIRST students is now open within the Internship Portal on the FIRST website! High school seniors from FRC and FTC Teams can apply now and be selected for an internship that will take place in their second year of college. The application is due on Wednesday, May 18 and can be found here.
