Qualifying for FIRST Championship

New England will send 35 teams on to the FIRST Championship Event in St. Louis at the end of April. This includes:

  • Four (4) New England District Championship Chairman's Award Winners
  • Two (2) New England District Championship Engineering Inspiration Award Winners
  • Two (2) New England District Championship Rookie All-Star Winners
  • Three (3) New England District Championship Winning Alliance
  • The next top 24 teams from the FRC Leaderboard in New England
    • Team #125, the Nutrons, has already earned one of these spots by winning the Chairman's Award at the Florida Regional earlier this season.
    • Team #195, the Cyberknights, has already earned one of these spots by winning the Tech Valley Regional earlier this season.

Additional information can be found on the NE FIRST site and in Section 7 of the Administrative Manual.

As an added bonus, NASA will be paying for the FIRST Championship registration fees for all teams that win Engineering Inspiration at District Championship and Regional events!

Robot Transport to FIRST Championship

All teams who qualify for the FIRST Championship will need to transport their robot via FedEx. FIRST will email teams their shipping documents following the District Championship or other qualifying event. FRC Logistics will send an email no later than the Wednesday following registration with instructions on how to submit the team's shipping information. The team must submit their shipping information within 48 hours. In addition, teams should make arrangements to ship their robot immediately after receiving their shipping documents.

Information for shipping crate construction can be found here and full details are in Section 5 of the Administrative Manual. Please do not crate and ship your robot without prior confirmation from FIRST. Filled crates must be kept to less than 400 lbs. to avoid being charged extra. Additionally, since robots are potentially taller this year than in past years, teams will be allowed to unbag and disassemble their robot to fit into the crate after sending an email to frcteams@usfirst.org explaining the situation. However, teams will not be allowed to do any other work on the robot while it is being disassembled and must re-bag it once it is able to fit in the crate.
