District Point System Changes
Due to the changes in scoring with this year's game, the District Point System is also being reviewed for changes. The system will be finalized within the next few weeks; however, a few pieces of information have been released:
- One goal is to make as few changes to the system as possible. Only those elements related directly to Win-Loss-Tie are being adjusted.
- Another goal is to closely approximate the typical point distribution of the current system.
- Points assignment for qualification round performance will be based on team rank at the end of qualification rounds, rather than some direct measure of match scores. To earn more points in the system, teams will want to focus on ranking well during events.

FIRST Championship Waitlist Reopening
This year, FIRST Championship is opening up to 600 teams on 8 fields. As announced on the Founder's Reception Broadcast, veteran team registration reopened yesterday, Monday, Jan. 5, at noon, and will be open until Monday, April 6. Also, in a change to what was previously announced, teams that attended the FIRST Championship in 2014 will be allowed to add their names to the list.
Teams will be selected at random rather than on a first come, first serve basis. Teams will be given 2015 - n entries to the waitlist, with n being the last year your team attended FIRST Championship, if they have attended Championship at all. A team that last attended in 2012 will be given 2015-2012 = 3 entries to the waitlist, and a team that has been active since 2005 but never attended will be given 2015-2005 = 10 entries.
