Open Streets

Sunday, July 20 from 10:00am to 3:00pm on segments of E. Laurel St. and Whedbee St.

Open Streets is an initiative that promotes healthy comm

unities by creating temporary car-free streets, so that people may use them for walking, bicycling, dancing, playing, and socializing. With more than 100 documented initiatives in North America, Open Streets are increasingly common in cities seeking innovative ways to achieve environmental, social, economic, and public health goals.

FC Bikes is excited to introduce this event to Fort Collins and we invite you to join us this July to see your neighborhood streets in a new light!  Open Streets is free and open to the public.  For more information, check out our website at www.fcgov.com/openstreets.

We are looking for over 200 volunteers to help us with this exciting event.  We need everything for info booth monitors to survey takers to intersection superheroes.  Sign up here!

Ride the City

FC Bikes has been working with Ride the City to launch a beta version of the online bike route mapping tool for Fort Collins. With Ride the City - Fort Collins, bicyclists now have one more tool to find a safe way to get around by bike, available on iPhone and Android. Ride the City is based on data from Open Street Map, a publicly-owned map. If you notice any errors or missing information when you test out the routing tools on Ride the City, you can help improve the map by e-mailing [email protected] or by becoming a member of Open Street Map to edit the data yourself. This may include adding bike paths or putting in missing bike lanes. As Ride the City is based on public data, the City is not responsible for the information and routes provided through this tool.  Always double check the route using the City's Bike Map before heading out on a ride!
