RESCHEDULED: City of Fort Collins Trail Day at Reservior Ridge

Saturday, June 15 from 8:30am-1:00pm

You have all seen, and tried to hike or ride the lower sections of the Foothills Trail on the east side of the Reservoir Ridge Natural Area: another asteroid belt, deeply eroded and not too much fun. So, the City of Fort Collins Natural Areas Department is re-routing about 3/4 of a mile of trail at Reservoir Ridge to create sustainable, flowing singletrack and add a couple of technical rocky sections.

Join us for an opportunity to build new trail on June 15, at 8:30am at the Foothills Trail Michaud Lane Trailhead.  Try to carpool or bike, if possible, as parking is limited. Lunch and tools will be provided by Overland Mountain Bike Club and the City Natural Areas. For more information, visit Overland Mountain Bike Club

Omnium on the Oval

Sundays, June 2, 9, 16, 23 from 3pm to 7pm

On June 2, 2013 The Fort Collins Velodrome Association and CSU Ram's Cycling will kick off its 6th annual race series on the Oval at Colorado State University. The racing takes place each Sunday for four straight weeks with categories for fixed gear and freewheeling bicycles.

This year the Oval Series is proud to be a part of the first ever FoCo Kids Healthy Bike Challenge. Kids racing in the Omnium at the Oval race free and earn participation points towards the overall series championship.

There are categories for fixed-gear and freewheeling bicycles. All ages of cyclists welcome - from tiny tots, to licensed racers, to non license holding cyclists  to masters.  For more information, visit Omnium on the Oval.

The Wheel History Bicycle Ride

Monday, June 24 @ the Bean Cycle/Wolverine Farm Bookstore from 5:30-7:30pm

We use bicycles to go forward into our days, whether it's for the daily commute to work, or the long-distance gravel road ride on the weekends. Bicycles take us places, but sometimes it's back in time, with a humble nod to what things looked like before us.

Join Wolverine Farm Publishing for the inaugural The Wheel History Bicycle Ride, where Wolverine Farm staff will lead participants on a 10-15 mile bicycle ride through Fort Collins, peppered with historical facts and anecdotes. We'll end the ride at William Oliver's Publick House, named after the man Fort Collins was named after.

Ride starts at 5:30pm from The Bean Cycle/Wolverine Farm Bookstore (144 N. College Avenue)

Ends at 7:30pm at William Oliver's Publick House (2608 S. Timberline Road)

Free and open to the public.

OMBC

The third annual "40 in the Fort" Endurance Mountain Bike Race will be held on June 29, 2013 at Lory State Park in Fort Collins. Come experience on of the Front Range's toughest mountain bike races. 40 miles, nearly 9000 vertical feet of lung-busting, leg-searing climbs and grin inducing descents. Once again we will be holding the regular two lap 40 mile individual race and the Just for Fun team race where a team of two riders ride one 20 mile lap each simultaneously.  Either race is a great test of your physical endurance, mental toughness and mountain bike skills.

The race benefits Overland Mountain Bike Club, the premier mountain bike advocacy organization for Northern Colorado and Southern Wyoming.
