March Momentum Newsletter
Greetings!

Today started as such a beautiful, warm day to get out and ride.  Unfortunately, the day has been turned upside down: in case you have yet to hear, a fire has broken out in Lory State Park.  For updates on the story, visit the Coloradoan page: http://www.coloradoan.com/viewart/20130315/NEWS01/303150027/Firefighters-battle-Lory-State-Park-wildfire-west-Fort-Collins.  Be careful out there riding as the air is already filled with smoke. Keep your thoughts with our brave firefighters and let's all hope this fire gets under control quickly.

Fun Facts
Did you know . . .
In 1936, Fred Birchmore of Athens, GA was the first person to ride a bicycle around the world.  Even more impressive is that he rode on a single-speed, 42-pound Reinhardt named after Alexander the Great's horse, Bucephalus. The 25,000 mile ride was a 2 year endeavor for the 25 year old.  April 15th, 2013 will mark the 1 year anniversary of his passing.  He was 100 years old at the time of his death. For more information on this amazing cyclist, visit http://www.smithsonianmag.com/history-archaeology/Fred-Birchmores-Amazing-Bicycle-Trip-Around-the-World.html#
