A Big Thumbs Up to Bevtec Asia

Bevtec Asia 2015 has firmly established itself as the regional drink manufacturing event for Southeast Asia after its first edition in May attracted the regional beverage producers, the global technology providers, a high-level conference and a professional exhibition representing the full spectrum of beverage.


The resounding message from Bevtec Asia 2015 was quality and professionalism as the event welcomed the region's leading companies, it enjoyed a high-level three day conference and established for Southeast Asia the first total-solutions trade event for beverage manufacturing. "Bevtec Asia is the event for the big customers as Bevtec Asia is the beverage industry event", explained Mr. Banjeard Sap-Aran, Managing Director of local supplier BS1 Tech.


Bevtec Asia 2015 was the inaugural international biennial drink manufacturing event for the region, showcasing the entire scope of technology, products and equipment for beverage production in Asia from laboratory to ingredients, processing, bottling and labeling through to storage, distribution and marketing. The total size of the event this year was just over 4,000m² with the event set to double in size in 2017.


The exhibition was co-located with the International Beverage Conference and the ASEAN Beverage Forum, providing a complete platform for business, innovation, trends, opportunities and policy. The closed-door forum, also new for ASAEN, brought together the regional Associations to meet and discuss policy and opportunities within AEC. The event drew tremendous support from industry, Max Duclot Zone Senior Aseptic Specialist & Senior Dairy Officer of Sidel South Asia Pacific Ltd., said "we are very happy to be Gold sponsors of the Bevtec exhibition", "the market is growing very fast" Max Duclot added, "this exhibition is a very good way to support the business in the industry".


The inaugural event hosted 112 exhibitors with visitor attendance representing beverage producers, suppliers and industry related companies from 30 countries, making Bevtec Asia the largest dedicated drink manufacturing event in Southeast Asia. Sean Herrington of Maselli Asia Pacific, an exhibitor at Bevtec Asia, said "the show has been very good, we've met some interesting customers and we've had a good range of people coming through". 53% of visitors were planning to make purchases either immediately or over the course of the next year, with 15.9% of trade buyers being from overseas, according the official onsite government verified audit.


Visitors to the event, to include Boonrawd, Carabao, Sunglo (Malaysia), FIT (Vietnam) and F&N (Singapore), for example, all confirmed how the quality of the exhibitors had already met their expectations as Bevtec Asia now looks to build on its success through the expansion of products and buyers alike for its second biennial edition. 100% of the Malaysian trade mission delegates were pleased with their visit to Bevtec Asia 2015, with 78% confirming they're planning to return again for the 2nd edition from 1-3 March 2017.


Key beverage companies visiting the Bevtec Asia 2015 over the 3 day event included Alcidini Winery, Asahi, Beer Thai, Black Canyon, Boon Rawd, Carabao, Coca Cola, Cosmos Brewery, Diageo Moet Hennessey, Dutch Mill, Green Spot, Haad Tip, Ichitan, Indo China Beverages, Lactasoy, Malee, Mitrphol, Oishi, Osotspa, Nestlé, Pepsico, Saha, Sakol Beverage, Sappe, Sermsuk, Siam Winery, Singha Corporation, Sky Cider, T.C. Pharmaceutical, Thai Bev, ThaiMilk, ThaiNamThip and Tipco to name a few. Internationally the attendance at Bevtec Asia 2015 was very good, Mr. Worapanya Suthanupaphwut Director of Food and Dairy of Patkol Plc reported that "for Bevtec Asia we have met many guests from overseas and Southeast Asia, more than we expected. Thailand is a very good market for the ASEAN, Bevtec is a benefit for everyone". Major producers visiting from overseas covered the full spectrum of beverages from water to soft drinks, functional drinks, coffee and tea to wine, beer and spirits. Companies included Bhutan Agro Industries, Nest Ankor (Cambodia), Bel Canto Coffee (Indonesia), F&N (Malaysia), San Miguel, Coca-Cola Far East (Singapore), Loi Hein Alpine Water (Myanmar), Bavi Milk, Suntory and Vietnam Beer, for example. Commenting on the trade visitors to Bevtec Asia 2015, exhibitor and speaker, Dr. Kai Uwe Richter of Veolia Water said that "the quality is high and we're glad to be here".


The highest Asian attendance 

to Bevtec Asia 2015 outside of Thailand came from Vietnam, followed by Malaysia, Singapore, Japan, Myanmar, India, Philippines, Indonesia, Cambodia, China, Bhutan, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Lao, and Iran. Th

e exhibition and conference was supported by the Vietnam Beer Alcohol Beverage Association, their Chairman, Dr. Nguyen Van Viet, announced that "this event helps us in achieving our objective of developing and promoting the beverage industry, ensuring that we remain competitive with international standards sand expectations".

  100% of visitors to Bevtec Asia 2015 were beverage industry professionals with the highest visitor interest reported in beverage production and process equipment, followed by bottling technology, packaging and palleting, fruit juice and dairy processing, filling equipment, ingredients and additives, labeling, laboratory and test equipment, support services and refrigeration, storage and transportation. Supporting the industry's objectives and business channels was the daily International Beverage Conference and the evening sponsored networking receptions, as well as the first ASEAN Beverage Forum chaired by Mr. Pornwut Sarasin, Chairman of ThaiNamThip and President of the Thai Beverage Industry Association.
