PTA Board Nominations due after spring break
Kelly Mill Elementary's 2013/14 PTA Board nominations are due to the box in the front office no later than April 8. Click HERE for more information and a printable form to nominate yourself or someone else for a position.
General PTA meeting and vote will take place on Tuesday, April 30 at 6pm.

Teacher Appreciation week recap
Thank you to all the volunteers that helped make KME's Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week such a success! From decorative posters to gift card drawings, flowers, treats, and the potluck Lunch of Love on Friday, many tokens of appreciation were showered on all our staff by Kelly Mill PTA, families and students! Special thanks to Hospitality Chairperson Tracie Barone and her committee - Micaela Brady, Nancy Malone, Jennie Jones, Jenny Barber, and Cheli Martin. Without them, last week's celebration would not have been possible! We definitely appreciate everyone who makes KMES the amazing school that it is!

|  Last chance for Lost & Found items! Friday is the last day to claim your items from Lost & Found. All remaining items will be donated over Spring Break! The Lost & Found is located in the lobby outside of the cafeteria. | |
Please continue to send in your Box Tops! Place them in the bin in the front lobby or send them in with your student. We will be looking for a chair to head up the Box Top program for 2013/2014 school year. If you are interested, please contact Courtney Kempski at 480-298-3375. |

Terracycle--save your candy wrappers over break!
Keep collecting recyclables over the break, especially those candy wrappers--even the foil from things like chocolate eggs can be turned into ca$h for our school. We make about $20 per week recycling juice pouches, which may not seem like a lot but to date all of our "trash" has been turned into over $1,300!

 Be sure to have your Colt practice their talent over Spring Break. Auditions will take place in classrooms Monday April 22-30 with performances beginning May 6.

Lunch Money Alert!
The automated meal accounting system will not allow further (negative) charges to student meal accounts after Tuesday, April 30th. Per board policy, students without adequate funds to cover meal costs will be offered an alternate meal of cheese sandwich and milk.
You can send money for student accounts through their homeroom teacher or you may also use www.mylunchmoney.com to make debit or credit card payments on your child's account and to monitor the account balance.

Reminder about absence notes
With lots of illnesses going around, we thought it might be a good time to remind you that students must submit a note or parents must fax or email the attendance office within five (5) school days for a student's absence to be considered excused. Attendance Fax Number: 678-965-4958 or Attendance email:mcape@forsyth.k12.ga.us. The parent/guardian must write the note, fax or email stating the student's name, the date(s) of absence(s), and the reason for the absence. The principal may require students to present appropriate medical or other documentation upon return to school for the purpose of validating that absences are excused.
