More than 2,300 Fall Grams were delivered on Oct 31st!  Thank you to everyone who sent a gram.

Special thanks to all the student and parent volunteers who helped us sell desserts at Concert on the Lawn and organize the Fall Grams. We appreciate you!

Concert on the Lawn was fun for all!

We enjoyed one of the last warm Friday nights out on the lawn. The evening began with a fun pocket scavenger hunt where audience members won gift cards for having items like flip phones, a library card, pen drive, can of Diet Coke, checkbook or paperback novel on their person.

The 4th and 5th grade chorus kicked off the night with music led by Mr. Tomes. After a first-ever fashion show to introduce the fall/winter spirit wear line, host Dan Scott led students in some hilarious Minute to Win It competitions.

Throughout the evening winners were drawn for Ticket To WIn It prizes such as a giant stuffed Chimpanzee, free swim lessons or massages, pottery, the chance to play kickball with Mr. Walkup or shadow Mr. McAllister for the day and $250 gift cards to the Dang Chicks store to name just a few. Our headliners didn't disappoint as Wheel House and Austin McKinnis took the stage and treated everyone to their vocal stylings. We had such a great time that we hope this will become an annual event at KME! We have so many people to thank for making this event such a wonderful reality...to be continued...

Second graders did an amazing job of researching, creating, and curating KME's first Georgia Regions Museum.

Visitors were led through student-made 3-D renditions of Georgia's swampland, mountains, beaches, and cities. Students created QR codes to scan for additional information, videos, and there was live student narration at each station. We enjoyed our educational trip through Georgia!

Box Tops--our fall submission raised $809 for our school!  Our next submission is due at the end of February.  Send clipped Box Tops to school with your child and have them put them into their room's collection container.  The Box Top Redemption Parent will process them for your classroom.

There is a contest for the classroom that collects the most Box Tops to win a reward for their room.  So far, here are the top three classrooms!

Keep sending in Flip Flops through November 26.

  • Sessa and Molter tied for 3rd place - 20 flops

We belong to a candy wrapper brigade and would love for you to send in your Halloween candy wrappers.  Please place them in the drawer in the front lobby redemptions center marked "candy wrappers".

There is an Ink & Toner Recycling Contest that will run from now through Nov. 16th.  Every student who brings in cartridges will receive a leaf to put their name on.  The leaves will then be placed on the recycling tree located in the cafeteria throughout the contest.
