October 12, 2015
Don't miss this month's Provider Forum!
The next Provider Forum is scheduled for October 13, 2015. This forum is for all providers. Please RSVP for the location in which you will attend:
DHHS Updates regarding Home and Community Based Support
Supported Employment - The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has provided additional guidance for assessment of individual employment sites on a Sept. 25, 2015 call with the State. Based on this guidance, individual site assessments will not be required after the initial statewide provider self-assessment process. After the initial self-assessment process ends only the corporate site will be required to submit an assessment.
(b)(3) Services - (b)(3) Assessments for Supported Employment, Day Supports and Residential Supports will be accepted through 8 p.m. October 15, 2015. A '(b)(3) services' selection has been added to the E-Assessment as a waiver selection. Please remember that this includes MH/SA Supported Employment provided under the (b)(3) service array.
Innovations Waiver Amendment - Per NC Department of Health and Human Services, the Innovations Waiver amendment has been delayed. The additional time needed for the initial 30-day posting resulted in a delay of the stakeholders' review and the final 10-day posting, which will result in a later-than-expected submission to CMS. The new effective date is April 1, 2016.
NC DMH/DD/SAS Request for Applications - Consumer Organized Wellness and Community Engagement Initiatives

The purpose of this Request for Application (RFA) is to enhance grassroots efforts that promote engagement in community based wellness and recovery activities, promote community engagement, and promote awareness of living with mental health disorders and related life challenges; and to provide mental health and recovery based trainings through a collaborative regional approach.
The deadline date is 4 p.m., Monday, Nov. 2, 2015. To view the request for applications, click here.
