DHHS Updates regarding Home and Community Based Support
Supported Employment - The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has provided additional guidance for assessment of individual employment sites on a Sept. 25, 2015 call with the State.  Based on this guidance, individual site assessments will not be required after the initial statewide provider self-assessment process.  After the initial self-assessment process ends only the corporate site will be required to submit an assessment.
(b)(3) Services - (b)(3) Assessments for Supported Employment, Day Supports and Residential Supports will be accepted through 8 p.m. October 15, 2015.   A '(b)(3) services' selection has been added to the E-Assessment as a waiver selection. Please remember that this includes MH/SA Supported Employment provided under the (b)(3) service array.
Innovations Waiver AmendmentPer NC Department of Health and Human Services, the Innovations Waiver amendment has been delayed. The additional time needed for the initial 30-day posting resulted in a delay of the stakeholders' review and the final 10-day posting, which will result in a later-than-expected submission to CMS. The new effective date is April 1, 2016.
