Taxonomy Code Changes Implemented in NCTracks
Taxonomy Code changes are being implemented in  NCTracks:
  • Changes will affect Claim Payments in 2015.
  • CHANGES go into effect February 1, 2015.

Please look at the Taxonomy Crosswalk to see if the Taxonomy that you have currently registered at NCTracks is in Column A (Used Taxonomy Codes on Providers).

If you are currently using a Taxonomy Code  that is listed in Column A (Used Taxonomy Codes on Providers), you MUST go into NCTracks and update your profile to one of the Taxonomies listed in  Column F (Direct Mapping for NCTracks).  The taxonomies listed in column A will become invalid in 2015 and will directly affect your ability to get paid for your claims.

Please take a screen shot of your updated taxonomy code in NC Tracks

and send to enrollment@partnersbhm.org and Partners will update AlphaMCS with the correct information so that your claims will process accurately.

NC Medicaid and NC Health Choice Preferred Drug List Changes

Effective with an estimated date of service of January 1, 2015, the N.C. Division of Medical Assistance (DMA) will make changes to the N.C. Medicaid and N.C. Health Choice (NCHC) Preferred Drug List (PDL). It is the expectation of Partners Behavioral Health Management that providers are aware of the importance of prescribers prescribing medications that are covered by a patient's insurance, in an effort to reduce risk of the patient not filling/taking medication because they cannot afford it and to increase medication adherence. The following list is available in the December 2014 Medicaid Bulletin.

Below are highlights of some of the changes that will occur.

  • The prior authorization criteria will be removed from the leukotriene class
  • New classes are being added:
    • Under TOPICAL, Imidazoquinolinamines
    • Under MISCELLANEOUS, Epinephrine, Self-Injected; Estrogen Agents, Vaginal Preparations; Glucocorticoid  Steroids, Oral
  • Some mental health pharmaceuticals will have non-preferred options for the first time. Please click here to access the new PDL.
