Giving Back: Opportunities for All
The staff and consumers at UCP's Colonial Park Day Program give back to the community each week through a variety of volunteer opportunities that includes the Swatara Church, Central Pennsylvania Food Bank, WITF, and RSVP of the Capital Region (RSVP). The volunteer experience is rich in continued skill development in the areas of socialization, communication, independence, and task completion.

Our relationship with RSVP began in October 2015. Since that time UCP staff and consumers volunteer every Friday, and have assisted with mailings, sorted yarn and fabric by color, paired hats and gloves for children, made cards for veterans at Thanksgiving and Christmastime, folded blankets, and tagged donated books with bookplates. Highmark Walk for a Healthy Community
UCP is pleased to return on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at 9:00am for the 8th straight year as one of more than 40 local nonprofits selected to participate in the annual Highmark Walk for a Healthy Community

Did you know Highmark Blue Shield underwrites the cost of the Walk? That means 100% of the money raised by UCP supporters goes to UCP programs and services!

And it's fun for the whole family! Join us for the 5K Walk or the one-mile Fun Walk.  The walk route is accessible for wheelchairs and strollers, and leashed dogs are welcome
