Upcoming Events

 

 

Duffle Bags Needed: Brother Bud Fray is asking if anyone has a duffle bag they would be willing for our Mission Team to take to Africa, please bring it to the church by Wednesday, May 22.  They need 5, made of canvas and 3-4 feet tall.  The bags will be packed with Love Buckets for those to whom the team will minister.

  

Nursery Door Entrance and Parking

The nursery door entrance is ONLY for parents who have children in the nursery.  Everyone else is encouraged to enter the building through the Atrium doors.  Parents are asked not to park along the side of the grass so that emergency vehicles could get through.

 

 

Sunday School Teachers: Literature for the Summer quarter is available on the tables across from the church office. 

 

June magazines are available at the boards in the Atrium.

Women's Ministry - Wonderful Wednesdays with Wanda

The group will meet Wednesday for the last time until Fall.  May30th we will take a final road trip for Spring.  We will eat lunch at Connor's and shop at Turkey Creek with a stop at Publix.  Bring money for lunch and to contribute towards gas.  We will leave at8:30 a.m. and return by 5:00 p.m.  Sign up at the Women's MinistryBoard by May 26th.

 

Young Women of Central Baptist - Desperate: Seeking Simplicity....Finding the Cross by Cindi Wood
Beginning June 11 through July 3010:00-12:00, the Young Women will have their own Bible Study for the summer on Tuesday mornings. Childcare will be provided. We will begin registration on May 19th. The cost of the book is $13. (If you are unable to participate in the study during the day due to work, please see Mary Shipley).  

 

 

New Member Orientation (NMO)

Next NMO is scheduled for Wednesday, May 22, 5-7 p.m. If you are interested in joining Central please mark Event Response #2 giving your contact information or contact Scott White.  Also indicate if you need child care.

 

Operation VBS Outreach

Instead of having a traditional VBS this year we are going to do a two-day outreach event. Saturday, June 1 will be Family Service Day. We are asking all of our church kids and their families plus all of our VBS volunteers to meet at Central at 10:00 a.m. for a brief time of worship and to receive an assignment to do a service project in the community (2-3 hrs). Sunday, June 2 will be VBS in the Park. We will be meeting at Centennial Recreational Park from 5:00-8:00 p.m. for music, crafts, snacks, games, & a worship rally. If you would be interested in helping please mark Event Response #1  or email here with your contact information.  We will have a VBS Volunteers Meeting on Wednesday, May 22 @ 6:00 p.m.

 

 

MEN'S MINISTRY

Manning Up Saturday, May 25, 7-8:30 a.m., Choir Room. Please join us as CCHS head baseball Coach Dave Prichard teaches on "Mentoring Leadership".  As always all men are invited and encouraged to attend.

 

 

CHILDREN'S MINISTRY

Children's Security

Parents of children age 4 (by Dec. 31) - Grade 4 need to check in at the Firm Foundation Children's Ministry table in the Atrium.

  

Cedar Lake Camp

Buses will be running to camp June 17-21. Please register your child through cedarlakecamp.org and let Amy Strong (337-9662) know if your child will be riding the buses. Cedar Lake Summer Camp

Brochures are available at the Welcome Desk if you would like to register your child for Summer Camp.

 

50+ ADULT MINISTRY

Senior Adult Choir Tuesday 28th, 10:30 a.m. There will be an appreciation luncheon on Tuesday, May 28.

 

The 50+ AM Fellowship Luncheon Tuesday, July 9, 12:00 noon Theme: "Shower the Nursery"Central Baptist Church Nursery is registered at Wal-Mart.  There will be a variety of items listed, from $5.00 and up.  You may purchase items individually, or two or more people may get together to purchase larger, more expensive items.  Items may be purchased at the store or online.

Memorial Day Family Recognition- Sunday, May 27, 9:30 a.m.

We would like to recognize military service men and women, relatives of members of Central Baptist Church, who have given up their life while in service.  These service men and women can be a close or distant relative, i.e. cousin or great, great, great uncle, etc.  If you have a relative who has given their life for this Nation, please complete an information form available at the 50+ AM bulletin board and return the form to Billy or the church office by Sunday May 19.

  1. Mother's Day Offering - Those who love to give to this will find info on the Mission Table by the map in the atrium.  

     
  2. Peru Mission Team - On Mission for us May 21-31. Pray for the Holy Sprit power for them, grace for every need, and an abundant Harvest for Jesus.     

     
  3. Sanyati Makeover Team in Zimbabwe, Africa June 6-20. Pray for empowered witness and service, the mighty Presence of Jesus, and a Spirit of renewal for the whole Sanyati Mission.  

     
  4. Father's Day Offering - Those of you who love to give to our Tennessee Baptist Adult Homes. 120 Senior Adults receive 24/7 care in an assisted/nursing home center; 175 Senior Adults live in 3 retirements communities; and 55 adults who are disabled receive 24/7 care in 6 homes. WOW!
