The votes have been cast and the results are in for the PLL name change and new PLL Officers. I am very pleased to announce that the membership has voted affirmatively to change our SIS name to Private Law Librarians & Information Professionals (PLLIP). The next step is the vote to amend the Bylaws to reflect our newly chosen name and to approve other Bylaws amendments. You should have already received the proposed Bylaws amendments document, which was sent out to all members on Tuesday, April 14.
Be on the lookout for the Bylaws amendments ballot in your inbox on May 13. Voting on the PLL Bylaws Proposed Amendments commences Wednesday, May 13 and closes Wednesday, May 27. Click here to view the Bylaws amendments document in blackline format.
I am pleased to announce the new PLL Officers for the the new Association year and extend a hand to all who stepped up and said yes when asked to run. Also, a huge thank-you to the PLL Nominations Committee chaired by Sara Paul Raffel. They presented an excellent slate of officers.

As professionals in our own right, we often tend to neglect to toot our own horns and lament the fact that we are not respected, but this recent press release by BIALL (British and Irish Association of Law Librarians) Librarian one of the most desirable jobs in Britain? We agree! should brighten our perspective, and we can stand proud that the profession of librarianship is one of the most desirable somewhere in the world.
More on the Joys of Law Libraries provides 8 reasons solo lawyers should use law libraries. In my view these reasons equally apply to any lawyer. And similarly Don't Overlook the Lowly Law School Library lays out 3 reasons local law school libraries should not be overlooked as excellent resources for attorneys and others. And "...You Can Do Anything With An Amazing Research Librarian" - No Kidding! proudly touts the importance of getting to know and utilizing legal research librarians.
