Spring is in the air!

Alas, spring is just around the corner! Warmer weather, flowers and trees blooming, and green lawns are finally in sight. It's also time to register for upcoming professional development events, consider opportunities to serve PLL, and apply for grants to help defray the cost of attending the 2015 PLL Summit and the AALL Annual meeting in Philly.

Register for AALL Annual Meeting here and please remember to register for the 2015 PLL Summit "Innovation Imperative" by checking the box for it on the annual meeting registration form. Both of these educational opportunities are worthwhile. In particular, the Summit now in its 5th year is sure to be a sellout event so don't delay!

Want to volunteer to serve PLL? Access the 2015-16 PLL-SIS Volunteer Form to see and sign-up for the various committees and groups on which to serve. Volunteering is an excellent way to give back and get better acquainted with your fellow PLL colleagues. Please note: The Volunteer form will close on Monday, April 13th.

PLL is offering continuing education grants again this year - one PLL Summit Registration Grant, one Annual Meeting Registration Grant, and two Annual Meeting Travel Grants! Interested PLL members may apply via the single application form which is available on the Grants committee page or via the direct link to the application here.

Please Note - You may encounter a log in box when trying to open the grant application form.  If so, please use your AALLNet credentials to log in.

Here's to spring and new opportunities!

PLL Summit Keynote Aric Press

Each year the PLL Summit features noted experts in the legal industry, providing insights into the challenges and opportunities faced by law firms in today's business environment.    We are very pleased to announce that Aric Press will provide our 2015 Keynote address.    Press is a founding partner of the recently formed law firm advisory group Bernero & Press, specializing in helping law firms with their strategy, client relationships and planning, but may be better known to members of the PLL community for his prior role as editor of the American Lawyer and senior vice president and editor in chief of ALM.   Summit attendees will benefit from Press's insights as he provides an update on the current state of the law business and the challenges facing law librarians, framing the issues before us as we head into a day focused on innovative solutions.

We invite you to join us at PLL Summit 2015:  The Innovation Imperative to hear from Aric Press, Professor Karl Ulrich of the Wharton School, and innovators from within our own ranks.  Visit the Summit site for more information, and be sure to register for the Summit on the AALL Annual Meeting registration site (the Summit is listed as a pre-conference workshop.)

We're looking forward to seeing you at the Summit!
