It has been one month since my last race and I am eager to get on the starting line. As expected, I watched 70.3 Worlds and I was sad I was not racing; however, I still know it was the right decision to skip it this year (see blog post: Why I am not Racing at the IM 70.3 Championships). The weather in Boulder has been perfect as fall creeps in and I have had a solid training block leading up to Beijing. I have done some faster run sessions to prepare for a 10km run as the race is Olympic distance.
I really have enjoyed the new training environment I am in and I have made a lot of new friends. It is motivating to be surrounded by a positive group of people of all abilities pushing towards various goals. I fly to Beijing on Monday evening and I arrive early Wednesday morning. I am very excited to meet the athletes in Beijing and to experience China once again.
