A Win at Ironman Brazil in 8:01:32
Sets New Course Record
Ties the American IM Record
IM Brazil was won with the fastest bike and run splits of the day at 4:22:23 and 2:50:18, resulting in a new course record of 8:01:32. The decisive win was more than 18 minutes faster than the second-place finisher.
This ties a 24 year-old American record at the Ironman distance set by six-time Ironman World Champion, Dave Scott, at Ironman Japan in 1989. It was particularly meaningful win on Memorial Day Weekend - as a US Navy veteran and Advisory Board member and athlete for Team Red, White & Blue.
