 Words of Wisdom

"Try not to resist the changes that have come your way.  Instead, let life live through you.  And do not worry that your life is turning upside down.  How do you know that the side you are used to is better than the one to come?"

Dear All,

Namaste.

We hope this newsletter find you well! It is now the start of a brand new year and new and exciting things await you in 2013! We should resolve to make 2013 a year of significant personal and spiritual growth. It's time to focus on shifting our awareness from fear to Love. Let go of all that no longer serves you. The old ways of thinking are fading to black, old structures and paradigms of fear and guilt no longer serve us and are starting to fall away.  People are waking up to the Truth of who we really are: Infinitely capable, spiritual beings.  For 2013, we are beginning to move out of this negative, small-minded pattern of thinking and we are starting to move into a more Love-based mind set. This is a time to expand our consciousness and heal our world.

We hope this newsletter brings a little light into your inbox! Please let us know how we can better serve you! We always welcome you to share your feedback and suggestions with us at

Thank you for all of your love and continued support! Have a happy, healthy and blissful 2013!

Love,

Team BTN

By Dr. Sheila Patel, M.D., Medical Director of the Chopra Center for Wellbeing

Many traditional cultures give particular significance to the changing of the seasons by organizing celebrations and rituals around these times. The practice of honoring these times of transition is an opportunity for people to reflect on the prior months and look forward to what lies ahead.

According to the Ayurvedic tradition, just as the natural world transforms with each changing of the seasons, so, too, does our mind-body physiology.

Why New Year's Repeats Itself
By Sarai Salinas, Energist & Personal Trainer for the Spirit

By the time New Year's comes around, many people are emotionally and financially spent which sets the stage for people to buy into New Year's delusions.

It has been said that in order to know where you are going, you must first know where you've been. A way to increase your chances of seeing your New Year's resolution through to success is to arm yourself with as much information as possible. The New Year's Resolution tradition dates back to the Babylonian Empire when its people promised to correct something on the arrival of the New Year which fell on March 23. The Romans celebrated the New Year on January 1 by ending feuds and exchanging gifts. The Chinese believed malicious spirits were to blame for whatever didn't go their way. Read more...

The Power of Meditation: How it Cured
My Father's Cancer
By Sarah Anne Stewart, Founder of Introducing Wellness

"I am going home to meditate."

I will never forget the moment my father spoke these words with such confidence to his doctor. Seconds before that he was told he had terminal cancer with possibly only months to live and should prepare for immediate surgery to remove his kidney. However, instead of rushing into the operating room as they strongly suggested, he walked out. I remember the shock, confusion and anger that my family and I felt. Was he crazy? After all, when you're diagnosed with kidney cancer, you need to act, and act fast, right? After several days of meditating, my father told us that he was going to get a second opinion before making a decision about the surgery. We, of course, supported him although we were confused.  Read More
