Dear:

Welcome to the April edition of the PFLA online newsletter.

As part of our ongoing commitment to reach out to neighbours and key stakeholders, we're pleased to report our recent trip to the Association of Vancouver Island and Coastal Communities' (AVICC) 2016 conference was a success. It was a great opportunity to answer questions and provide information about how private forest land is managed, and why, in British Columbia. We look forward to follow-up discussions.

As always, thanks for your interest.

Melinda Morben, manager of operational logistics, Island Timberlands.

Logging and Sawmilling Journal recently published a story about Melinda Morben, manager of operational logistics for Island Timberlands, titled Diversifying the Industry's Workforce: with more women. Melinda Morben knows all about saying "yes" to opportunity in the forest industry. Based on her own positive experiences, she is encouraging more women to look at working in the forest industry. Melinda has worked at Island Timberlands for five years. PFLA Joins CAFO in Ottawa

PFLA is heading to Ottawa in early May to join the Canadian Association of Forest Owners (CAFO) for their annual general meeting. While we're in the neighbourhood, we've put together a jam-packed schedule of briefings to help educate our newest members of parliament about policy files important to Canadian forest owners; most notably, species at risk and migratory birds. We're looking forward to the trip and we'll keep you posted about any progress we make in Ottawa. You can learn more about the Canadian Association of Forest Owners from their website
