Greetings!
Welcome to the brand new PFLA e-newsletter! If you can't tell, we're pretty excited about it.
It's part of the PFLA's broader communication strategy to refocus our energy on member communications: a way for members to stay connected, and receive relevant news and timely information.
You can look forward to finding an e-newsletter in your inbox once a month. Each themed issue will include articles, photos, videos and links to the PFLA blog.
This first issue focuses on highlights from the PFLA June 2011 annual general meeting. It's a bit heftier than an average issue, but we didn't want to leave anything out.
Have a look around and let us know what you think. If there's something you'd like to see that you don't, let us know.
We look forward to hearing from you! |
The Private Forest Landowners Association (PFLA) met for its 2011 annual general meeting, June 15th and 16th, at the Prestige Oceanfront Conference Centre in Sooke, B.C.
A series of engaging presentations sparked interesting debates, encouraged thoughtful questions, and provided an opportunity to connect with forest landowners (large and small, coastal and interior); government representatives; industry experts; communication specialists; and international presenters.

Communications Update
The PFLA Communications Committee is delighted to announce another successful year of positively representing private forestlands in BC.
With a solid footing on external communications, we're shifting gears to refocus our energy on member communications.
After a thorough review process, we've recruited two talented young professionals with new energy and fresh perspectives. Juhli Selby and Lisa Weeks are excited for the opportunity to work with the PFLA, and look forward to helping us continue to tell our unique story in compelling and engaging ways.
Juhli Selby gave a presentation at the AGM's 2011 Private Forestry Forum outlining ways the PFLA can use tools like Facebook, YouTube and blogging to better communicate amongst ourselves, with the public, with other like-minded organizations, and with different levels of government.
Participants were kind enough to engage with our new efforts. Our sincere thanks for your participation: we're excited about our expanding online presence and look forward to your continued feedback.
Along with monthly e-newsletters you can also look forward to: weekly blog posts, a members only Facebook page, and our very own PFLA YouTube channel.
