Homstvedt Furniture studio focus: small-scale living
Former pro snowboarder and current interior designer Hallgeir Homstvedt, from Norway, is heading a furniture design course at UO this term in which students are designing tables for small-scale living. He is the Stott Visiting Professor.  Read more 
Portland Community College G.Z. Brown Fund to honor UO professor
SRG Partnership, an architecture firm in Portland, has contributed the lead gift in a new endowment, the G.Z. Brown Fund, to carry forward the legacy of G.Z. "Charlie" Brown who founded the UO's Energy Studies in Buildings Lab in 1977.  Read more

John Fenn, associate professor in arts and administration, was selected in January as a Cultural Agent for the US Department of Arts and Culture. His first assignment was to gather stories for a collective, cultural narrative.   Read more
 
Designing their futures
Recruitment Fair
The 2016 A&AA Recruitment Fair played host to thirty-one companies actively seeking students for employment including full-time positions for graduates as well as summer internships. Architecture, landscape architecture, interior architecture and planning firms were widely represented in the daylong event that took place on two floors in Lawrence Hall on February 18. Each firm set up displays with project images, books, samples, and giveaways. Above, students meet with representatives of Gensler and JPC Architects in the Wallace and Grace Hayden Gallery. The event was organized by the A&AA Office of Professional Outreach and Development for Students (PODS).
