'Inclusive Urbanism' studies city design
Three A&AA professors have teamed up to promote an interdisciplinary urban design philosophy that encourages more diverse socioeconomic prosperity. "Inclusive Urbanism," a new course winter 2016, focuses on how the standard approach to city development can impede residents' potential to thrive.

A donor-sponsored architecture internship in Singapore gives students project experience and encourages interns to immerse themselves in the multicultural experience of Southeast Asia. medical instruments Alumna curates medical history exhibition
No Harm Intended: A Medical History of Lane County, an exhibition focusing on the years between 1840 to 1940, is on display at the Lane County Historical Museum in Eugene through March 31. It was curated by UO art history alumna Faith Kreskey, MA '12.  Read more 
artwork Student receives Humanities award
An art history student was selected as one of six UO students to participate in the Humanities Undergraduate Research Fellowship. Brandi Wilkens will share a research project on Japanese courtesans and their role in European art exportation during the 2016 UO Undergraduate Symposium on May 19.  Read more 

Electric car design launches career 

conceptual vehicle
After helping design a conceptual vehicle in a Product Design Program studio at UO, Collin Lafayette showed his work to representatives from Arcimoto, an electric car start-up based in Eugene. Within a matter of weeks, his work was a finalist in an international competition hosted by Michelin, with Lafayette's team besting hundreds of other entries, including those from professional designers. Arcimoto hired him as a full-time designer after he graduated from UO in June 2015. He's shown here with the Arcimoto Gen 8 SRK prototype.
