MFA thesis show May 3-25 in Portland
The 2014 University of Oregon MFA Thesis Exhibition will take place in May at Disjecta Contemporary Art Center in Portland. The graduating artists will display their work from May 3-25; the opening reception is May 2 from 6-8 p.m. Concurrently, second-year MFA student work will be at the White Box in Portland May 2-25. Bart Johnson's research honored nationally
The Council of Educators in Landscape Architecture (CELA) has awarded Associate Professor Bart Johnson the 2014 Excellence in Research Award, Senior level. While at UO, Johnson has been principal or co-principal investigator for more than $4 million in externally funded research grants. Read more

Blandy wins lifetime achievement award
The National Art Education Association has awarded Doug Blandy the Beverly Levett Gerber Special Needs Lifetime Achievement Award, which recognizes an NAEA member who has made a lasting impact on art education's role for people with special needs. Read more

Irvin article among top 75 of 3,500
Cited as one of the most influential articles since 1940, a paper by PPPM's Renee Irvin in Public Administration Review (PAR) in 2004 is among just 75 of 3,500 essays recognized for their leading scholarship. The paper investigated citizen participation costs and benefits. Read more

Adrenaline Film Project spurs creativity
The Adrenaline Film Project, part of the Cinema Pacific Film Festival, begins April 23. Participants are given 72 hours to work in teams to pitch, write, shoot, and edit a three-to-five-minute short film. Product Design students exhibit in Milan
Product Design Program students were invited to Milan, Italy, in March to exhibit their work in the annual Salone Internazionale del Mobile di Milano, also known as Milan Design Week. The event is the global benchmark of the home furnishing industry.
