No "Tail"
After finishing your thread, make sure you "bury" the tail by carrying your end through several stitches on the backside of the canvas. Then snip off the end. Loose "tails" left hanging on the back side can interfere with the remaining stitching.

Greetings!
As the summer draws to a close and it's back to school time, don't forget about The Village Ewe's needlepoint classes and workshops! We offer a variety of interesting programs for beginner to advanced stitchers. The popular Box of Chocolates class is returning in September. This four week class will be held on Wednesday evenings. And the 12 Days of Christmas Club, which you can join any month, continues on the first Wednesday of each month in the morning or evening. So call or email now to reserve your space!
The Village Ewe has great needlepoint projects (see pictures below) in stock including:
- Tote Bags - choose a bag and then choose a belt canvas, put them together and when finished, you have a unique and attractive custom bag;
- Bracelets - these canvases can be backed with leather for a soft finish, or as a cuff, and
- Bookmarks - a quick and easy project - great for kids, first timers and stitching during short airplane trips. And no finishing is required!
If you can't make it to store, research our website for the 50+ designers that we carry, with links to their sites! If we don't have it in our large inventory, we are pleased to special order it. Or if you want to personalize your project, we can have your design custom painted!
With The Village Ewe operating for 50 years and one of the premier needlepoint shops in the country, no project is too big, too small or too unusual! We are happy to ship items to you and to also receive by mail your canvas submissions for finishing.
We will be taking a short break for summer vacation. As we typically do, The Village Ewe will be closed Saturday, August 23rd through Labor Day, September 1st.

Upcoming Classes, Lessons and Workshops
Beginner Workshops Tuesday 10 am-Noon
Come once, twice or more. Learn to stitch or learn a new stitch! You can bring a canvas you already have and need a refresher on, you may choose our custom designed beginner canvas or from one of our hundreds of canvases. The cost of $30/session; materials not included. Advance registration.
Private Lessons
Schedule time for a private lesson at a mutually agreed upon time, day or evening. $30/hour.

Wednesday Evenings 7-9 pm

This popular four week class is returning! We provide everything you need: the canvas, threads, a stitch guide and personal stitching guidance. Canvases need to be ordered in advance, so please sign-up early!
