Today's Scripture(s) - John 1:43
"The day following Jesus would go forth into Galilee, and findeth Philip, and saith unto him, Follow me."
The Lord does not just happen upon you and decide to call you dear ones. He knows exactly where you are, He knows exactly what you're doing and He knows exactly who you are. As I was reading the first chapter of John yesterday morning and again last night and again this morning, today's verse is the verse that kept standing out for me. The note at the end of this verse in my bible says that the Lord 'planned' to go to Galilee and find Philip. Now when we read about Philip in the book of Acts Chapter 8 we know that Philip went to the city of Samaria and preached Christ to the people there and they saw the miracles that the Lord did through Him and many believed on the Lord Jesus Christ and were baptized both men and women. Then we also see where the Lord spoke to Philip and sent him into the desert to minister to a eunuch there and he believed on the Lord Jesus Christ and was baptized and then the Spirit of the Lord caught (transported) Philip away and he was then found at Azotus and passing through there he preached in all the cities. The Lord knew that day when He went to Galilee to find Philip He knew all that Philip would do for the kingdom of God and He said to him very simply, 'Follow Me' and Philip followed the Lord. Where we go in Christ and what we do in Christ Jesus hinges on something very simple children of God. It's not as deep as some suppose. Fulfilling our purpose and our destiny in Christ Jesus hinges on this: "Following Him". I know that I revert back to what I am about to say, but it is the only way. You cannot truly following Christ if you do not spend time in His presence. You cannot truly follow Christ if you do not get into His Word. You cannot truly follow Christ Jesus if you do not REPENT (turn away from) sin and turn your face and your ways to seeking God the Father. The Lord wants to use His children in the days that we are living in and we must be in tune to hearing His voice, in tune to His will being done, not our own. We must be in tune with the heartbeat of the Father. We must decide to follow the Lord Jesus Christ with all our heart, with all our mind and with all our strength. We cannot afford to be wishy-washy. We must set our feet on the pathway following in the footsteps of the Savior! I want the Lord to use me to touch lives for His glory, I want to see the manifest presence of the Lord Jesus come forth in my life, I want to be a vessel the Lord can use for whatever He needs to use me for, this is my desire, is it yours too? If it is then know that the Lord is speaking and simply saying to you 'Follow Me', will you follow Him?
Today's Prayer:
Father I bless you and honor you this day. I thank you for keeping me and watching over me and protecting me and shield my life. Father I bless you for touching me and waking me up this morning and I thank you for keeping watch over me as I slumbered on last night. Thank you Father for your word today, Lord I thank and praise and bless your great and wonderful name. Lord today I simply say to you from my heart, where you lead me I will follow. I will follow you Lord with all my heart. I will follow you Lord with all my mind. I will follow you Lord with all my strength. I will keep my eyes set and fixed on you Lord. I want to be a vessel you can use to bring you glory and honor and praise. I want to be a vessel Lord you can use for whatever you need to use me for. I want to be a clean vessel, wash me Lord and cleanse me from all unrighteousness. Thank you Lord Jesus for your blood that washes me, thank you Lord Jesus for your blood that cleanses me, thank you Lord Jesus for your precious blood that covers me from the top of my head to the soles of my feet, thank you for your blood Lord Jesus that cloaks me and thank you Lord Jesus for your precious blood that soaks me. Order my steps in your word today Father God, lead and guide me this day Father. Keep me on the right pathway Lord, keep me on the path that leads to eternal life keep me on the path to fulfilling my purpose and my destiny in you, Father God. Hold me up Lord don't allow me to fall, hold me up Lord don't allow me to falter, hold me up Lord don't allow me to fail, hold me up Lord. Lord I thank you, Lord I praise you, Lord I exalt you, Lord I lift you up, Lord I bless your great name, Lord I give you all the glory, Lord I give you all honor, Lord you are so good and so great and I magnify and bless your great and holy name. In Jesus name I pray. Amen
