Dear Parents,

We had a great trip to the U.S. National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) and School of Mines Geology Museum this week. It was a great learning experience for students and fit in very well with the sixth grade unit on renewable energy.

On Thursday, May 30, all middle school students will be going to Redstone Park for Field Day. Please use the registration form link below to sign up your student.

Field Day

At 8:30 a.m., on Thursday, May 30, middle school students will walk to Redstone Park for Field Day. Activities will be set up from 9 a.m. -
1 p.m. We will walk back to school after the field day activities have concluded. Lunch On The Go will provide sack lunches for students to take with them. If your student will have his/her own lunch, s/he will bring it to the park. The cost is free, but you will need to complete
the registration form for your child.

Bake Sale Fundraiser

Tomorrow, Friday, May 17, we are hosting our second schoolwide bake sale to support our eighth grade trip to Washington, D.C. Our last bake sale had all kinds of great options and were very tasty. Students can buy treats for $0.50 each during their lunch period.

Mission: Our mission is to develop young adults with character like America's founding Renaissance man, Benjamin Franklin: well-read, scientifically curious, and civically engaged.

Vision:
Our students will excel academically through a challenging, sequenced curriculum that emphasizes math, science, and literacy. We will be a data driven institution, focusing on individual students. Our students, teachers, parents, staff, and leaders will be held accountable for the success of our school. Finally, we recognize that an education is incomplete without fostering the arts, sports, nature, and character.

Ben Franklin Academy's 13 Virtues:
