Dear Preschool Families,
It is hard to believe that Spring Break is next week. Time flies when you are having fun!
As a reminder, the preschool is putting together a basket to be auctioned off at our annual Silent Auction. Please bring in all items no later than Monday, April 1. Please click here for more information. A BIG thank you to our lovely PTO Preschool Fundraising Coordinator, Amy Sunahara, for putting this all together!

Child Safety
As parents, keeping our children safe is always our No. 1 priority. I recently stumbled across a free Child Safety Kit. The kit includes a booklet that offers methods for educating your child about safety without scare tactics. Some areas covered include the following:
-
Which strangers to ask for help when no trusted adults are available.
-
How to recognize dangerous situations.
-
How to respond to those dangerous situations correctly.
Click here to order yours today! This is one topic that needs to be reinforced over and over.

Curriculum Corner
We have all heard the quote, "One man's junk is another man's treasure." If you are cleaning out some old items, think of us! Preschool is a time for exploring the world. Preschool-aged children love to use real-life items to make sense of the many things going on around them. The following is a list of items that you may be ready to toss that will enrich your child's learning experiences:
- Garden supplies: Child-sized gardening tools, gloves, seeds, pots, soil
- Clothing items: Ties, scarves, hats, purses, briefcases, jewelry, aprons, shoes
- Office supplies: Envelopes, junk mail (credit card applications, surveys), stamps, return address labels, index cards, rulers, old typewriters, phones, clipboards
- Art: Magazines, newspapers, stencils, hole punches, cookie cutters, yarn, string, wood scraps, egg cartons, thread spools
- Miscellaneous: Buttons, small containers to practice pouring, ribbon, food coloring, scoops and shovels, funnels, strainers, spray bottles, pet supplies
The list can go on and on. You can drop off any items to my office!

Quote of the Week
A parent heard one of the preschoolers use this quote the other day: "This is botherish. I don't want to do this." I wish I knew who it was!
