Dear Parents,

We have had some fun events take place through our middle school

in the past couple weeks. Students returned from Space Camp in Huntsville, Ala.; we had our first spelling bee; Science Oympiad students dissected frogs for second grade students; and our Science Fair finalists began preparing for the Regional Science Fair on Wednesday, Feb. 27, at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science.

This camp will strengthen and flex students' writing muscles by learning how to analyze a writing prompt, reviewing actual successful writing samples, developing strategies for organizing thoughts and writing solid paragraphs and multi-paragraph essays. Give your child this important life skill for a third of the price of private tutoring. Two grade level sessions are being offered. For more information, click here. To register, click here and select "Writing Workshop." Space is limited, so reserve your spot today.

Mission: Our mission is to develop young adults with character like America's founding Renaissance man, Benjamin Franklin: well-read, scientifically curious, and civically engaged.

Vision:
Our students will excel academically through a challenging, sequenced curriculum that emphasizes math, science, and literacy. We will be a data driven institution, focusing on individual students. Our students, teachers, parents, staff, and leaders will be held accountable for the success of our school. Finally, we recognize that an education is incomplete without fostering the arts, sports, nature, and character.

Ben Franklin Academy's 13 Virtues:
Temperance, Silence, Order, Resolution, Frugality, Industry, Sincerity, Justice, Moderation, Cleanliness, Tranquility, Purity and Humility.
