I am starting a new section! I want to utilize this space for parent concerns and questions.  This can relate to questions about preschool development, tips on handling behavior concerns, general questions about preschool policies and procedures and whatever else seems to fit.   

 

How will this work? 

If you have a comment or question you would like to see addressed here, simply email me.  I will take time to research the topic to ensure I have the most up-to-date information prior to posting a response. Remember, if you have a question about something, another family will most likely be wondering the same thing. For your privacy, all names will be kept confidential.  

This week, the children and teachers have been working on getting reacquainted with the rules and routines of the class. In addition: 

• Mrs Furnier's class talked about the New Year and what that means. They also learned the months of the year through a fun little dance.   
• Mrs. Olson's class wrote their New Year's resolutions in their journals. They also focused on some new shapes and making patterns.   
• Mrs. Spurgeon's class has been busy learning what animals hibernate, migrate or stay during the winter months.

I am happy to announce that we hired a new assistant teacher, Jessica Ward.  Jessica has been a nanny for a couple of our Ben Franklin Academy Preschool families and comes highly recommended. She will be helping in the classrooms by giving the teachers a well-deserved break during the day and assisting with various activities. She will work from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m., Monday through Friday.
