Ben Franklin Academy
Dear Parents,
Students were given an electives sign-up sheet for term two before break. Many forms have already been returned. Thank you for having a discussion with your student about which elective choices will best suit their educational needs. Priority for some electives is given based on term one placement. For example, students in Science Olympiad first term will have priority to remain in Science Olympiad for second term since they will have the opportunity to compete in a tournament in March. Forms are due no later than 4 p.m., tomorrow, Friday, Nov. 30. |

Science Fair
| 
The Middle School Science Fair will be held Wednesday, Jan. 23. This falls one month before the K-5 science fair to allow students in the middle school the ability to compete in the Denver Metro Regional Science and Engineering Fair held in late February. Students should have a general idea of what they would like their science fair project to be, and the Ben Franklin Academy permission form should be returned to Mrs. Denham for approval. The approval process is in place to make sure students have a measurable or testable idea that is appropriate for their grade level. I have included the Science and Invention Fair Handbook for our middle school students as a reference guide while conducting their research and investigation. It also is available online.

Botanic Gardents at Chatfield Social
|  Join us for a family social from 6:30-8:30 p.m., tomorrow, Friday, Nov. 30, at the Botanic Gardens at Chatfield for the Trail of Lights. Admission is $8 per person. Enjoy holiday treats, walk through the beautiful lights and meet and mingle with other Ben Franklin Academy middle school families. We hope you will join us for this fun and festive way to kick off the holiday season with other BFA families! |
