May brings flowers and follow through, both well liked in the real estate industry! Positive is still the word as it relates to the economy, stock market, jobs and housing. The data points continue to support an improving housing market.
Our local market place maintains its busy, yet competitive stance, still thirsty for new inventory to satisfy the large buyer pool. Sales-price-ratios tighten reflecting the squeeze on buyers as the market is transitioning into a seller's market place.
January through April - 2013 vs. 2012 - home sales were up across the board; Westport, Weston, Wilton, Fairfield and Norwalk. Average sales price up in Westport, Weston, Wilton and Fairfield, down in Norwalk. Check out our Market Action Reports for the details.
Mortgage rates moved up to 3.51% from the prior week, but are still below a year ago at 3.79% according to the Freddie Mac Primary Mortgage Market Survey.
We have a new listing in Westport, 131 North Compo Rd, don't miss this crisp and clean, picture perfect move in ready home. We will be hosting an open house Sunday from 1- 4 pm love to see you or any of your friends that may be looking.
This Sunday is the Coldwell Banker Open House Event, 43 homes ranging in price from $330,000 to $2,850,000 are on the tour. Going to open houses is a good way to get a better sense of the market.
