Our own Sofia C. (4R) was the winner of the Diocesan Spanish Spelling Bee last week! She competed against nine other 4th grade students from the Diocese. She did an amazing job as they went 21 rounds! She also spelled all the words using the Spanish alphabet (students have the option of using English alphabet). This is the second year in a row we have had a 4th grade student win the Diocesan Spanish Bee.
There is still time to sign up to be a Mentor Family! To become a mentor family, you must:
Mentor Families also receive their entire required 50 volunteer hours as they help navigate new families through the school year. If you have any additional questions, please contact PTO New Family Coordinator Kelly Sorkin at 480.559.3242.

Master Plan Update
Next weekend, during all Masses at St. Benedict, we will be sharing the Master Plan for the future of our Catholic community.
This Master Plan includes a new worship space, meeting rooms, gathering spaces, and new classrooms for the school. Join us during Mass to hear a short overview of our plan. After Masses, members from the Steering Committee will be available to answer any questions you may have. We are also offering a more in-depth look at the future of our space on Thursday, April 30, at 6:30 pm at the church.
We are entering into an exciting time for the St. Benedict and St. John Bosco Catholic School community. After many years of growing and becoming the body of people we are today, we look towards the future to plan and vision who we want to become.

Hand-Carved in Bethlehem
Please stop by the tables of religious wares after all masses next weekend, April 25 and 26. These items are hand-carved by about 140 Christian families from Bethlehem represented by Ayman Khair. These families have been dependent upon sales of their articles to tourists of the Holy Land; however, due to the conflict in the Middle East, tourism has been cut off. In order to survive, they have turned to Christian communities in the United States to purchase their Olive tree wood carvings. The workmanship you see has been a tradition in these families for hundreds of years. Thank you for your support.
